Course Requirements and Expectations

Expectations: Course Expectations include showing up to class on time, making up missed work within the week you are absent, putting a full effort into class activities, participating on a regular basis, sharing relevant information and ideas for discussion, and most importantly, respecting your fellow students and teacher. My goal is to make this class a community where students feel safe to share their ideas, thoughts, and opinions, so give the same respect to others as you would like to be given to you. I will give my utmost respect to all of you and I expect the same in return. I want this to be your favorite class and the best way to do that is to allow you to freely share your ideas in an environment that is welcoming.

Requirements: Grades will be calculated from a few different areas that will be weighted differently based on importance. These areas will include participation, journals, homework assignments, quizzes, tests, and projects; however, my goal is to give you ample time to do homework like activities in class, because my hope is that you absorb the material and learn it, rather than rushing through it at home and not be able to discuss it. This is why participation in class will be your key to success in this class. There will be no tricks, your success will come from being in class, listening and participating in each class activity to the best of your ability, I guarantee it.
