Objectives: SWBAT identify the 7 Habits Habits of a Highly Effective Teen, tell a story about when they should have shown deference but didn't and the moral of the story, find a current event, and create an action plan for following through on goals.
Warm Up 15 minutes: Write a story about a time you should have shown deference but did not, and the create a moral for that story.
Research 20 minutes: Students will research current events.
Groups 25 minutes: Highly Effective Habits Poster

  • Summary
Activity 20 minutes: Action Plans
Skills 10 minutes: Students will list 10 of their best talents.

Present 15 minutes: Students will present radio commercials.
Sharing 10 minutes: Students will share homework assignment.
List 20 minutes: Students will finish list of 10 Academic Goals and how they will accomplish and follow through with their goals.
Reading 10 minutes: p. 164-167 7 Habits of a Highly Effective Teen.
Current Events 10 minutes: Students will finish current events.
Closing 5 minutes: Review Objectives.

Sharing 15 minutes: Students will share commercials.
Listing 10 goals 15 minutes: Students will list 10 academic goals.
Following through 20 minutes: Students will write how they will accomplish goals.

Activities 20 minutes: Students will create a list of 10 academic goals and how they will achieve those goals.
